At this time, all of us get the information from lecture about data logger. Data logger is the device that can read various types of electrical signals and log the data in internal memory for later download to a computer. In the simple word, data logger is any device that can be used to store data. Many data acquisition devices like plugin-in boards or serial communication systems which use a computer as a real time data recording system are some of examples. However, most instrument manufacturers consider a data logger a stand alone device that can read various types of electrical signals. They also consider it stores the data in internal memory for later download to a computer.
Based on what I have learned in the lecture, there are many advantages of data logger. Data logger enhance the better graphic skills, can be used in interdisciplinary project, interest in practical work, enhance computer literacy, understand science concept and experiment and also enhance collaboration during the experiment using data logger occur.
However, there are some disadvantage like data logger reduced practice of graphing skills, the science concept not related to symbol representation, loss of conventional methods of data collection and the important is increased the work load of teacher. As a teacher one day, I do not want the work load give an effect to me as the teacher to teach my student. Although like that I need to teach my student with all my heart using data logger if it gives the advantages to my students one day.
In the lecture also we have been given the assignment about the data logger in a group. The assignment is about we need to do the report and include the engaging, empowering and enhancing techniques. We have learned what should we included in the experiment we choose. It quite interesting to explore the data logger and the problem statement. Then, the assignment, we should submit it in the week of 12 and presented it.
